Spanish Super Cup Kicks Off in Jeddah Tomorrow

Spanish football returns to Jeddah as the Spanish Super Cup is staged at Alinma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, with the participation of four teams, under the supervision and organization of the Ministry of Sport. The 2026 edition gets underway tomorrow evening, Wednesday, 7 January, and runs through Sunday, 11 January. The line-up includes Barcelona, champions of La Liga and the Copa del Rey for the 2024–2025 season; Real Madrid, runners-up in both competitions during the same season; along with Atlético Madrid and Athletic Club, who finished third and fourth in La Liga respectively.

The competition is played in a knockout format, with Barcelona facing Athletic Club tomorrow evening, Wednesday, in the opening semi-final, while Real Madrid take on Atlético Madrid on Thursday, 8 January, in a highly anticipated Madrid derby to decide the second finalist. The final will be played on Sunday, 11 January.
