 George Groves claims world boxing title in Jeddah

 Callum Smith wins the World Boxing Super Series’ super middleweight, the Muhammad Ali Trophy title, after beating George Groves in the final in Jeddah in King Abdullah Sports City. The grand sport event was organized by the General Sports Authority in accordance to the agreement signed by His Excellency, the Chairman of the GSA Turki Al-Sheikh with Comosa AG, the championship organizer, which was a part of the agreements signed in London, UK last year.

The champion, Callum Smith received the trophy from Rasheda Ali, the daughter of the late Muhammad Ali after having undergone an interesting fight which he won with a Knock-out in the 7th round. Groves had excelled in some rounds, however Smith put an end to him with a knockout and stole the title.
The final was preceded by 7 prefight. In the first prefight, the Nigerian Aliu Bamidele Lasis won against the Thai Artid Bamrungauea, in the second, the Saudi Arabian Abdulfatah Al Julaidan won against the Georgian Shavlego Tsamaladaaidze, in the third the Danish Kem Ljungquist against the Egypitan Mourad Oma, in the fourth, the british Mikael Lawal won against the Hungarian Tamas Kozma with a knockout, in the fifth, the Saudi Arabian Zuhayr AL Qahtani win against the Georgian Giorgi Gviniashvili , in the sixth prefight, the British Darren Surtees win against his fellow citizen Kane Baker with a knockout and lastly in the 7th prefight the British Chris Eubank Jr was able to win against the Irish boxer JJ McDonagh.
There was a multitude of audience who came in early and had a great time watching the fights which took place in the ring in King Abdullah Sports City. Furthermore a great presence of local and international media was present which broadcasted this huge event all across the world.

The UEFA Team Was Successful In Winning The Championship Thanks To The Goal Scored By The Portuguese Star Cristiano Ronaldo In The 61St Minute, With A Large Crowd Of Over 62,235 Fans Witnessing The Goal.
